What is Coaching the Student-Centered Way?

Welcome to the 2017/2018 school year!

I am so excited to start working together through Student-Centered Coaching at Clayton. My main purpose as an instructional guide is to assist teachers to reach their goals for student learning.

So, what exactly does that look like?
We will be using the Student-Centered Coaching model from Diane Sweeney's book Student Centered Coaching and Student-Centered Coaching- The Moves by Diane Sweeney and Leanna S. Harris.

Working together to achieve student growth is the goal! Coaching will be organized in cycles that align with I/E Rounds and will last approximately 6 weeks. We will work together to look at student work, co-plan lessons, and co-teach. You will choose the focus based on what you feel will benefit your students most. There are 5 main steps in a coaching cycle. Watch this quick video to see what they are.

On this Blog, I will post resources that may be helpful to our coaching cycles and useful instructional tools and tips. Please provide me with feedback on what you would like to see here.

Can't wait to get started!
